Subtitling

We provide subtitling in over 190 languages for cinema, TV, DVD, video, video games, computer games and corporate CD-ROMS.

The art of subtitling

Subtitlers translate and formulate subtitles according to the rhythm of the film as defined by the cuts, the rhythm of the speakers’ speech and the audience’s reading rhythm. Our professional subtitlers are experienced in providing textual versions of dialogue in English or other languages.

The process of subtitling

Using subtitling software, video working copy and a copy of the script in the original language, translators spot, translate and formulate the subtitles. After revision and proofreading, the files are converted to the correct format. In the case of DVDs, the files are converted to TIFFS or bitmaps.

Transcription/translation of film clips

We regularly translate film and documentary clips providing  a finished transcription with time codes ready for subtitles to be created. Linguists can work either on-site in the studio or remotely.
