Skype, Equipment and Software Requirements
Skype allows you to make free calls from your computer to other people with Skype. Skype is free to download. You can download the free software from www.skype.com
For Skype-to-Skype voice calls, it is recommended that you have an internet speed of 10 kbits to 64 kbits. You will also need a Skype compatible headset.
For Skype-to-Skype video, you will need a sufficient bandwidth of 384 kbps or more. A standard home or office broadband connection is usually sufficient to support this. You will also need a computer with a dual core processor (minimum CoreTM2Duo or a similarly fast processor). A high quality video optimised Logitech webcam with the latest drivers and the latest version of Skype can be obtained from www.skype.com. Many of the optimised webcams come with a free Skype compatible headset.
