Polish & Spanish Roadsigns for Worcester Motorists
In Worcestershire recently, matters of health and safety clashed with matters of accessibility.
According to a story published in the Hereford Times, foreign language road signs offering advice to Polish and Spanish motorists have been removed because they could distract English-speaking drivers. According to a spokesman from Worcestershire County Council, the signs had been put up in response to the high number of seasonal workers speaking Spanish and Polish in the area.
We recently sent one of our Polish interpreters to Worcester to assist a Polish speaking individual taking driving lessons. Apparently the lessons were taking place in a Mini, so it’s a pretty good advert for this car that there was enough room for our strapping Polish interpreter, the learner driver and the instructor.
