Languages in Herefordshire and Worcestershire. Interpreters Trained
According to news reports, there has been a significant rise in the number of languages being spoken in Herefordshire and Worcestershire.
We have been supplying Polish, Romanian, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese and Russian translators and interpreters in the region for some years, but according to Herefordshire Council, there is also the increasing need for translation and interpreting services in Hungarian, Urdu, Tamil, Japanese, Arabic, Bengali, Korean and Pashto.
Harriet Yellin from Herefordshire Council said, “It is important that we are able to help families whose first language isn’t English”.
Knockhundred Translations is proud to say that over the last year, it has trained almost 40 linguists based in Herefordshire and Worcestershire to become Community Interpreters. Most of our students become qualified Polish interpreters, but other languages include: Russian, Slovak, Latvian, Czech, Hungarian and Portuguese. There are more accredited Community Interpreting courses planned, so it looks like Hereford, Worcester and surrounding areas will be well catered for.
