French interpreting in Birmingham yields surprising results

I shouldn’t laugh, but one of the French interpreting assignments we were asked to fulfil at a doctor’s surgery in Birmingham today, yielded some quite surprising results.

The French interpreter had been at the surgery for about 10 minutes before calling us to let us know what had happened.

A gentleman had walked into the surgery and had addressed the receptionist in French.  She could speak very little French, and as the gentleman seemed quite agitated, rang us to arrange for a French interpreter to attend the surgery in Birmingham as soon as possible.  

Our French interpreter rushed in, managed to find a parking space in central Birmingham only to discover that the French speaking gentleman in the surgery was asking for directions…
