Italian holidays and Italian translations
Just back from a glorious holiday in Italy to find that the rest of the team coped admirably without me. I tried to smile bravely when I heard how pleased my particular clients had been with my colleagues’ efforts. Ironically, we have had a big Italian Translation project in since I went away - this is unusual for us as the really big assignments are usually for Spanish translation, French translation, German translation, Portuguese translation... in fact every other European language translation except Italian!
My break turned into somewhat of a busman’s holiday as I found myself using Knockhundred’s telephone interpreting service. Italian not being one of my languages, I needed to explain to the nice man from the Carabinieri just why we had parked our car where we had...
